College Scholarships
Below is but a short list of scholarships Catholic high schoolers may apply to for college.
Classic Learning Test
The Cardinal Newman Society’s tenth annual Newman Guide College Scholarship Contest is now open and will close on February 17, 2026. The winner will be announced by May 2026 and will be awarded $5,000 toward the cost of attending a Newman Guide Recommended college in the fall of 2026 or 2027.
Additionally, there is the opportunity for the winner of the Contest to be awarded $20,000 over the course of four years. Several of the Newman Guide colleges have agreed to supplement The Cardinal Newman Society scholarship with additional $5,000 grants over three additional years.
Culture of Life Studies
Pro-Life Essay Contest opens Sept 18, 2026
The Culture of Life Studies Program’s pro-life essay contest began in 2017 and is now held annually during Respect Life Month in October. This year, our contest is cosponsored by the Institute for Excellence in Writing, Contend Projects, and Team Iron Will. CLSP’s essay contest gives children the opportunity to share their knowledge and thoughts about pro-life topics. And it’s a great way for them to win incredible prizes!

Some state councils provide educational funding programs in addition to what the Home Office provides, as described herein on the Scholarship site. Your state council’s educational assistance may take the form of elementary, high school, or college scholarships. The programs may be religious, academic, or for certain eligible groups. Please contact your State Council Representative for details on what is offered in participating states.
