Mantellum Matris Academy - "Our Blessed Mother's Mantle" (MMA) - is a private school satellite program (PSP) which supports Catholic and Catholic-friendly families who homeschool independently. While registered in the State of California as a legal option for California families, I also enroll and support families from around the Country and now, internationally.​

MMA was founded in 1994, the oldest such program of its type in California and one of the oldest in the Country. Founded by Catholic homeschooling mothers as Regina Caeli Academy, the name was changed in 2023 to more aptly describe how the program partners with parents in their pursuit of raising saints for Heaven:

Mantellum Matris provides a mantle of expertise under
which they do so;
Our Blessed Mother covers us all within her mantle,
to her Son’s glory.

As an MMA family, you enjoy the freedom of choosing and using the curricula and resources best suited to your family and each child's learning style and goals. You then enjoy the comfort of knowing you are enrolled in a school-of-record with a director who shares your Catholic values and works to help you meet the home education requirements in your state.​

In other words, MMA is your "umbrella" school,
while you remain in charge of your child's education!

​MMA is led by a sole director, currently only the fourth in our history. Since 2013, I have shared my experiences gained as a veteran home educator under this very same program and from my years as an administrator in post-secondary Catholic education and in the museum and arts world.

Mantellum Matris, "under Mary's mantle," beautifully captures our devotional approach to home education, where families entrust our homeschooling journeys to the protection, guidance, and maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Our mother's mantle is our protective covering, under which we find safety, grace, and formation in holiness.

Our Mother helps us in raising our children in the Faith, fostering virtues, and navigating the challenges and celebrations of God and family-centered education.
​
Let us consecrate our homes to her, imitating her example of quiet faith, obedience to God's will, and nurturing the young Jesus.
Regina Caeli, "Queen of Heaven," is one of the many titles bestowed upon Our Blessed Mother. Not only do we meditate upon The Coronation of Mary as the final Glorious Mystery of the Rosary, we find this title in Scripture:

"There appeared a great sign in heaven: a woman clothed with
the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown
of twelve stars." (Rev. 12:1)
How fitting that our founders chose Regina Caeli as their Patroness! As homeschooling parents especially, we must trust in Mary. Let us call to her, let us love her, let us confide in her, because she gives her all to us. We have a Mother in Heaven who is also a Queen; thus, we need to turn to her with full faith and hopefulness. Ask her for the gift of prayer, a prayer of the heart said only for love, a love for her and Jesus. Let us also ask for a consistency of prayer, to always be joined to her heart, and therefore to the Heart of Jesus. We cannot raise and educate our children otherwise.
